Quick answer: At Teeth Care, acrylic partial dentures start from INR 1,500 per tooth, flexible partial dentures start from INR 7,500, and complete dentures start from INR 16,000 per arch. A three-tooth flexible partial starts from around INR 8,100. Every figure is a starting price, confirmed after examination.
Why Denture Cost in Kolkata Confuses Most Patients
If you are comparing quotes for denture treatment in Kolkata, you have probably noticed that the numbers do not line up. One clinic says INR 1,500, another says INR 6,000, and both may be right.
The reason is simple. Partial dentures are usually priced per tooth, not per denture. So INR 1,500 is often the price of one tooth on the denture, not the whole thing. This guide walks you through every type, with worked examples, so you can estimate your own case before you walk in.

Denture Cost in Kolkata at a Glance
| Type of Denture | Starting Price (INR) | How It Is Priced |
|---|---|---|
| Acrylic partial denture (RPD) | Starting from INR 1,500 per tooth | Number of teeth replaced |
| Flexible partial denture | Starting from INR 7,500 | INR 2,700 per tooth for larger cases |
| Complete denture | Starting from INR 16,000 | Per arch (upper or lower), by material |
| Full CD acrylic | Starting from INR 30,000 | Per set |
| Sameflexible | Starting from INR 50,000 | Per set |
| Dental plate | Starting from INR 800 | Per plate |
All figures are starting prices, checked against the clinic's current rate list in October 2026. Your exact quote is confirmed after examination, because the number of teeth, the health of the remaining teeth and the shape of the gum ridge all affect it.
Partial Dentures Are Priced Per Tooth. Here Is What That Means
A removable partial denture replaces some missing teeth while your natural teeth stay in place. Since every case replaces a different number of teeth, the price is worked out per tooth. Acrylic partials start from INR 1,500 per tooth. Flexible partials start from INR 7,500, and bigger cases are worked out at INR 2,700 per tooth.
| Teeth Replaced | Acrylic Partial (Starting From) | Flexible Partial (Starting From) |
|---|---|---|
| 1 tooth | INR 1,500 | INR 7,500 |
| 2 teeth | INR 3,000 | INR 7,500 |
| 3 teeth | INR 4,500 | INR 8,100 |
| 4 teeth | INR 6,000 | INR 10,800 |
Here is how it works in real life. Say your mother has lost three teeth on one side of her lower jaw. In acrylic, her partial denture would start from 3 x INR 1,500, which is INR 4,500. In flexible material it would start from 3 x INR 2,700, which is INR 8,100. Same mouth, same three teeth, two very different numbers, and both are fair quotes.
Keep this in mind when you compare clinics. One clinic advertising "partial dentures from INR 1,500" and another advertising "from INR 6,000" may charge exactly the same rate. The first is quoting one tooth, the second a four-tooth case.
So always ask two questions: is this price per tooth or for the whole denture, and how many teeth is it based on?
Complete Dentures: Standard, Full CD Acrylic and Sameflexible
A complete denture replaces every tooth in a jaw. It is used when no natural teeth are left in the upper jaw, the lower jaw, or both. The clinic offers three kinds, and the names on the price list can be confusing, so here is what each one means in plain words.
- Standard complete denture, starting from INR 16,000. One full arch, upper or lower, with a pink acrylic base and acrylic teeth. If you need both jaws, each arch is priced separately.
- Full CD acrylic, starting from INR 30,000. "CD" simply stands for complete denture. This is the clinic's full complete-denture set made in acrylic, quoted as one set rather than arch by arch.
- Sameflexible, starting from INR 50,000. A complete denture set whose base is made from flexible, nylon-type material instead of rigid acrylic. It sits softer on the gums and looks more natural, but like all flexible dentures it is harder to reline or repair later.
Your dentist will tell you at consultation which of these suits your gums and budget. To see what a full-mouth denture case looks like from start to finish, read our complete denture case study.
Types of Dentures Explained
Acrylic partial denture
An acrylic base holding the replacement teeth, kept in place by small metal clasps that hold the neighbouring natural teeth. It is the most affordable option, starting from INR 1,500 per tooth. It is sturdy, easy to adjust, and more teeth can be added later if you lose any. The clasps can show, depending on where they sit.
Flexible partial denture
A nylon-based denture with no metal clasps. It bends slightly to hold the gum and nearby teeth, so it feels more comfortable and is far less visible. It starts from INR 7,500.
The trade-off is that flexible dentures are difficult to reline, rebase and repair, as Dear Doctor magazine notes. If one is damaged, it usually has to be remade rather than fixed.
Cast partial denture
A thin metal framework, usually cobalt-chrome, with acrylic gums and teeth attached. It is thinner and stronger than acrylic and spreads the chewing force better across your remaining teeth. It is priced case by case.
Complete denture
A full arch that rests on the gum ridge. The upper one is held mostly by suction. The lower one depends on fit and on the muscles of the tongue and cheeks, so lower dentures are usually less stable than upper ones.
Implant-supported denture
A denture that clips onto two or more dental implants instead of resting on the gum. It is much more stable and helps slow the jawbone shrinkage that happens under a normal denture. It costs more upfront and is quoted separately. For a fixed full set on implants, see full mouth dental implants.
What Changes the Price
- Number of teeth being replaced. The main factor for partial dentures.
- Material. Acrylic, flexible nylon and cast metal each start at a different price.
- Preparation work. Extractions, gum treatment or fillings on the supporting teeth are billed separately and may be needed first.
- Quality of the artificial teeth. Standard acrylic teeth cost less than higher-grade teeth with a more natural look and better wear resistance.
- Number of fitting visits. A well-fitting denture takes several appointments. Rushing them is where loose dentures come from.
- Upper, lower, or both. Each arch is priced separately.
Dentures, Bridges or Implants: Cost Over Ten Years
The price you pay on day one and the cost over ten years are not the same thing. Dentures are the cheapest to start with and need the most upkeep.
| Partial Denture | Bridge | Implant | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Upfront cost (3 teeth) | Starting from INR 4,500 | Quoted per unit | Starting from INR 35,000 per implant |
| Removable | Yes | No | No |
| Neighbouring teeth | Clasps rest on them | Filed down to hold the bridge | Left untouched |
| Slows jawbone loss | No | No | Yes |
| How long it lasts | Check for replacement after about 5 years | About 84% still working after 10 years | About 96% still working after 10 years |
| Upkeep | Reline or remake every few years | Rarely | Rarely |
| Chewing strength | Much weaker than natural teeth | Close to natural | Close to natural |
The bridge and implant figures come from published long-term studies: one clinical follow-up of metal-ceramic bridges found 84% still in place after 10 years, and a systematic review of implants found about 96% survival at 10 years. Chewing is where dentures fall furthest behind. A classic study found complete denture wearers had less than one sixth of the food-crushing ability of people with natural teeth.
Dentures are still the right answer for many people, especially when many teeth are missing across the jaw, when there is not enough bone for implants, or when budget decides. Our comparison of implants versus dentures goes deeper, and our dental implant cost guide breaks down the implant side.
How Long Does It Take to Get Dentures?
| Visit | What Happens |
|---|---|
| 1 | Examination, X-rays, treatment plan and cost confirmed |
| 2 | Impressions of the jaw taken |
| 3 | Bite registration and shade selection |
| 4 | Trial fitting in wax, adjustments marked |
| 5 | Final denture fitted and adjusted |
| Follow-up | Review after a week for sore spots |
When your gums are already healed, the visits above usually run over a few weeks. If teeth need to be removed first, a regular denture is normally started only after at least 8 weeks of healing, so the overall timeline gets longer. Our tooth extraction page explains that step.
An immediate denture can be fitted on the day of extraction so you are never without teeth. Because the gum keeps shrinking as it heals, it will need relining, often within the first year.
Adjusting to New Dentures
The first few weeks are an adjustment for everybody. What is normal:
- More saliva for the first few days
- A feeling of bulk, especially with the upper denture
- Sore spots where the denture presses. These are adjusted at the follow-up visit, so do not just put up with them
- Difficulty with some sounds for a week or two. Reading aloud helps a lot
- Weaker chewing at first. Start with soft food cut small, chew on both sides at once, and build up slowly
What is not normal is ongoing pain, bleeding, or a denture that will not stay in place. Those need an appointment, not patience.
Relining and Replacement
After teeth are lost, the jawbone slowly shrinks. That means a denture that fitted perfectly two years ago will slowly feel loose. This is expected and is not a fault in the denture.
- Relining adds material to the inside of the denture so it fits the changed gum again. One university dental school tells its patients to expect a reline or remake at least once every four years.
- Replacement has no fixed date. The American College of Prosthodontists advises getting a denture checked for replacement once it has been in use for more than five years, or sooner if it irritates your gums, needs adhesive to stay in, or has worn down.
Denture adhesive is a stopgap, not a solution. If you need it every day, your denture needs relining.
Caring for Your Dentures
Good care makes a denture last noticeably longer:
- Rinse after every meal
- Brush daily with a soft denture brush and mild soap or denture cleaner, not regular toothpaste, which is too rough
- Clean over a folded towel or a basin of water so a drop does not crack it
- Take it out at night and soak it in water or denture solution, never in hot water, which warps the shape
- Clean your gums and tongue with a soft brush every morning
- Keep six-monthly checkups even with no natural teeth left, so the fit and gum health are checked
Taking dentures out at night matters more than most people think. A three-year study of 524 adults aged 85 and above, published in the Journal of Dental Research, found that those who slept in their dentures had about 2.3 times the risk of pneumonia.
Our detailed guides cover the right way to clean dentures, ten maintenance tips, and which foods to avoid.
Will They Look Obvious?
This is the question most people are really asking, whatever they say out loud.
Modern dentures are colour-matched to your remaining teeth, or to your natural colouring if none remain, and the pink base is matched to your own gum tone. Flexible partials have no metal clasps at all, which removes the most common giveaway.
What makes a denture look artificial is usually teeth that are too even, too white, or too perfectly lined up. A little natural irregularity looks more real, so say so at the shade selection appointment. We cover this in more detail in do dentures look fake.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a denture cost in Kolkata?
Acrylic partials start from INR 1,500 per tooth, flexible partials from INR 7,500, and complete dentures from INR 16,000 per arch.
Why are partial dentures priced per tooth?
Because every case replaces a different number of teeth. Always ask if a quote is per tooth or for the whole denture.
How much does a 3 tooth partial denture cost?
Starting from INR 4,500 in acrylic and from INR 8,100 in flexible material.
What is the difference between acrylic and flexible dentures?
Acrylic has metal clasps and is easy to repair. Flexible has no metal, looks more natural, but is hard to reline or repair.
How long do dentures last?
There is no fixed limit, but get your denture checked for replacement after about five years, with relines along the way.
How long does it take to get dentures made?
Usually a few weeks over four or five visits. If teeth are removed first, allow at least 8 weeks of healing.
Do dentures hurt?
Some sore spots in the first week or two are normal and are adjusted at the follow-up visit.
Can I eat normally with dentures?
Not straight away. Start with soft food cut small, and know that chewing stays weaker than with natural teeth.
Are dentures or implants better?
Implants are stronger and slow bone loss but start from INR 35,000 each. Dentures cost far less upfront.
Do dentures look fake?
Not when they are colour-matched properly. Ask for a little natural irregularity at the shade appointment.
Should I remove my dentures at night?
Yes. It rests your gums, and sleeping in dentures has been linked to a higher pneumonia risk in older adults.
How do I book a denture consultation at Teeth Care?
Call or WhatsApp 9831526251, or use the contact page. All five branches offer dentures.
